What is the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) grant? Funded by the Department of Early Education and Care, the CFCE grant provides families across the Commonwealth with access to locally available comprehensive services and supports that strengthen families, promote optimal child development, and bolster school readiness.

Why is family and community engagement important? Science tells us that children’s early experiences literally shape how their brain is developed. A strong foundation in the early years increases the probability of positive outcomes for their futures. When parents and families have supports and resources they need to facilitate children’s healthy development, they are building a strong foundation for future growth.

PVRSD CFCE offers:

Welcome Baby Bags: a special welcome from our community to families with new babies in the communities of Bernardston, Leyden, Northfield, and Warwick.

What is in the Welcome Baby Bag? Gifts for child and family, Community resources: health/safety information, information on local playgroup opportunities, story hours, family events, parent workshops and literacy information & children’s books. Plus much more!

ASQ-3 and ASQ: SE-2 Questionnaire: Babies grow and change so quickly!

Young children are learning new things every day! Do you have questions about your child’s development? Are you interested in learning new activities to help your child learn?

In collaboration with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, the Pioneer Valley RSD Coordinated Family Community Engagement program, is providing families with access to the simple ASQ-3 questionnaire to help families learn more and help answer questions about their children’s development. The questionnaire looks at how children are developing in important areas, such as speech, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving skills. ASQ-3 can help identify you child’s strengths as well as areas where your child may need support. As a parent or caregiver, you are the best sources of information about your child. That is why the ASQ-questionnaires are designed to be filled out by you! You will only need 10-15 minutes. It’s that quick and easy.
