This session was scheduled to allow town officials an opportunity to share feedback from their attorney about the draft District Agreement. Town officials did not attend, and no legal feedback was shared. School Committee has scheduled another Special SC Meeting/Public Forum #6 for that purpose, to take place on 4/17/25 at 6:00 p.m. in the PVRS Library.

The 1991 District Agreement is the legal document that binds the towns of Bernardston, Leyden, and Northfield into the Pioneer Valley Regional School District.
The District Agreement has not been fully updated since it was created over 30 years ago. Building upon the work of prior efforts, including the HEART Committee, the School Committee has spent two years revising the document.
Any revisions to the District Agreement must be approved by the residents of our towns at town meetings. Changes must also be approved by the Commissioner of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

The district currently operates three schools: Bernardston Elementary School, Northfield Elementary School, and Pioneer Valley Regional School.
The district leases both elementary school buildings from their respective towns; see below for the leases. The district owns the PVRS building and campus.
